Meet our team

Dean

When I was a child I never saw myself as a gardener. Growing up in the suburbs, the yard work chores and mowing I had to do were among my least favorite things. But I developed a love of the outdoors, camping, canoeing, rock climbing and fishing. These interests helped me to discover how amazing nature is when it can take its own course. Later in life I discovered martial arts and Tai Chi and Qigong, these practices have helped me see the connection between internal and external nature. When I first wanted to grow a garden I was not very successful because I didn’t understand what it needed to thrive. I began to see the drawbacks of large scale agriculture to our world and environment as well as to our health. I began to see that the simplicity of healthy food grown in family gardens and small farms is a benefit both nutritionally and environmentally. I began to see that the wild places around where I live contain what we need. My initial idea for Twin Fish Gardens was to simply grow a little extra to share and to have a small crop to sell. I initially wanted to just have a garlic crop. Teresa and I began experimenting with making tea from our mint patches and some of the wild plants around us. We eventually discovered that the wild places surrounding us were full of nutritious and medicinal plants. Our idea for Twin Fish gardens evolved into learning to dry herbs and to blend natural tea. These things have enriched our lives and we are very excited to share these discoveries with others.

Teresa

Teresa brings creative inspiration to Twin Fish Gardens as a writer and creator of herbal concoctions. You can find her gardening or foraging for fireweed leaves, nettle, and other herbs all summer long. In the winter, you can find her packaging tea and working away in the Twin Fish Gardens office. Our TFG property manager, Ripple, is never far away.

Twin Fish Gardens is supported by the whole family! Adella and Ally help with marketing, website design, and taste testing from afar, while Dillon provides on-site technical assistance.
